What you need to qualify for a rental home with Amarillo Rentals.
To Be Considered for Tenancy

Income
- Monthly gross income of at least 2.5Γ the monthly rent (individually or combined)
- Income must be verifiable with pay stubs, tax documents, or bank statements

Credit
- Minimum credit score of 600
- No more than 2 derogatory accounts in collections (medical excluded)

Rental History
- No evictions within the past 5 years
- Favorable landlord references or proof of mortgage history

Criminal History
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Charges involving violence, weapons, sex offenses, or drug manufacturing will result in denial
- All other criminal records reviewed case-by-case

Application Requirements
- Each adult (18+) must submit a complete, separate application
- Valid government-issued photo ID required
- Incomplete or false information is grounds for denial

Move-In Requirements
- Full payment of first month's rent, security deposit, and any applicable fees due at lease signing
- Homes may be held with a non-refundable payment
Automatic Disqualifiers
Applications will be automatically denied for any of the following:
- Credit/resident score below 600
- More than 2 non-medical accounts in collections
- Active bankruptcy, foreclosure, or pending eviction case
- Unpaid balance to a previous landlord
- Eviction within the last 5 years
- Incomplete, falsified, or unverifiable application
- Income below 2.5Γ rent or not verifiable
- Criminal conviction involving: assault, weapons charges, sexual offenses, drug manufacturing or distribution
- Registered sex offender status
HUD / PCS / Section 8 Vouchers
Housing vouchers are accepted at select properties. Voucher holders may qualify with different income and deposit requirements. Call (806) 484-1852 to ask about currently voucher-eligible units.
